Some students take on the same kind of challenges they’ll face in their first jobs by entering intercollegiate competitions that pit them against teams of students from around the nation and beyond.

Bruce Jones, professor of agricultural and applied economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison/Extension has been appointed director of the UW Center for Dairy Profitability. Jones served as director of the Center previously, from 1995 through 2000.

An intercollegiate contest that culminates in a tractor pull? OK, it’s a little outrageous. It’s also a lot of work, a lot of fun, and, not surprisingly, a big hit with students.
