Straub To Oversee College Animal Operations
Richard J. Straub has been appointed as director of animal operations and AAALAC compliance for the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. In this role, Straub will assure that CALS is meeting or exceeding animal safety and compliance requirements for all animals associated with the college’s research, instruction and outreach programs.

Applications Are Available For 2009 Badger Dairy Camp
Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 Badger Dairy Camp, June 14-16 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Badger Dairy Camp, a cooperative effort of UW-Extension, the UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science and the Badger Dairy Club, helps young people aged 12-18 develop self-confidence, sportsmanship and teamwork skills.

Wisconsin is winning the battle against glyphosate-resistant weeds
Wisconsin corn and soybean growers may be national leaders in the practice of using multiple herbicides or rotating herbicides. That helps explain why no cases of glyphosate-resistant weeds have been documented in Wisconsin, while most other Midwest states have reported problems with one or more glyphosate-resistant weeds.
