Columbia County 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Team Places Fourth Overall At Madison Contest

The Columbia County 4-H dairy cattle judging team placed fourth overall out of 23 teams at the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest, held Sept. 28 during World Dairy Expo at Madison, Wis.

The team placed first in Jerseys, third in Oral Reasons, fourth in Brown Swiss, and sixth in Holsteins.

Individual awards and team members included: Mark Heinze of Portage, second high individual, second in Oral Reasons, Jerseys and Holsteins, and sixth in Ayrshires; Elizabeth Walker of Portage, second in Brown Swiss; Daniel Davis of Dalton, eighth in Holsteins; and Jason Stiemke of Arlington.

The team was coached by Bob Hagenow of DeForest. The winning team from the Wisconsin State 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest represents Wisconsin at the national contest.
