April 1 is deadline for Farm and Industry Short Course Scholarships

April 1st is the deadline to apply for scholarships to the University
of Wisconsin-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course (FISC).

That includes scholarships targeted to the Wisconsin School for
Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers, a FISC program in which
students participate in seminars and other learning activities focused
on the management of grazing-based dairy or livestock farms. WSBDF
students are mentored by experienced graziers, business leaders and UW-
Madison experts, and many of them get internships on Wisconsin dairy
and livestock farms.

Among more than 80 Short Course scholarships available are a number
endowed specifically for WSBDF students. Most offer tuition
assistance, but some help cover costs involved with internships.

For those not seeking a scholarship, registrations for all Short
Course programs, including WSBDF, will be accepted until Oct. 1, 2010.

To get a list of WSBDF scholarships and other information about the
