In this episode of Blue Sky Science, Marie Thompson asks, “How is spider silk made?” Entomology’s P.J. Liesch, director of the UW Insect Diagnostic Lab, answers her question.

Blue Sky Science was a collaboration of the Wisconsin State Journal and the Morgridge Institute for Research. Scientific questions were posed by visitors to the Discovery Building. The Blue Sky Science team then set out to find an expert to answer the questions.
