Deadline For Ice Cream Makers Short Course Is February 14

Prospective students have until Feb. 14 to apply for the Batch Freezer Workshop on Feb. 21-23, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Food Science.

The course is designed to provide attendees with in-depth exposure to the practice of manufacturing frozen desserts using batch freezers over a three day workshop at Babcock Hall.

The $1000 course fee includes instructional materials, speaker expenses, lunch and refreshments.

Registrants need to secure their own lodging. Group rates are available at the Best Western InnTowner (2424 University Ave., 608.233.8778) and the Madison Concourse Hotel (1 W. Dayton St., 608.257.6000). Permits for on-campus parking for the duration of the workshop can be purchased for an additional $16 by checking the appropriate box on the registration form.
