Wisconsin 4-H Team Takes Third At North American International Livestock Exposition Judging Contest

The Wisconsin 4-H dairy cattle judging team was third high team overall in the Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest at the North American International Livestock Exposition, Nov. 4 at Louisville, Ky. The Wisconsin team placed first in Guernseys and Jerseys, third in Holsteins, and fourth in oral reasons. Michigan placed first in the contest; 21 4-H and FFA teams competed.

Wisconsin team members:

Jerome Meyer of Elkhorn (Walworth County): sixth high individual overall, second in Ayrshires, and seventh in Guernseys.

Chrissy Wendorf of Viroqua (Vernon County): ninth high individual overall, seventh in Holsteins, and eighth in Guernseys and Jerseys.

Aaron Bruenig of Manitowoc (Manitowoc County): 10th high individual overall, fifth in Brown Swiss, and sixth in Holsteins.

Mike Riebe of Cumberland (Barron County).

Ted Halbach, UW-Madison Extension Dairy Youth Specialist, and Steve Fronk of Almena coached the team.
