Ag Source/CRI has been named the Friend of Short Course for 2001 by the Farm and Industry Short Course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The award was presented to Ag source representatives Jan. 27 at the Short Course reunion in Madison.
In 1973, Agricultural Records Co-op, the predecessor of Ag Source/CRI, established a $300 scholarship for Short Course students. Every year since, the company has presented a scholarship to a Short Course student from a dairy farm. In total, more than $8,400 has been given for scholarships over these years. While the name of the organization has changed several times and the parent company has also changed, the Dairy Herd Improvement organization has always supported the Short Course.
In addition to supporting Short Course with scholarships, Ag Source has employed many Short Course graduates. Many students paid their way through the Short Course by testing cows on weekends and others have found full-time employment with Ag Source.
