Micheala Slind is a junior majoring in dairy science who recently received the William & Janice Ward Family Agricultural Enrichment Scholarship. She chose to attend UW-Madison because she knew she could stay closely connected to the agriculture industry she grew up in here and would learn from some of the most highly renowned professors in their fields.
Slind is actively involved on campus and is a member of the Association of Women in Agriculture, Badger Dairy Club and Collegiate Farm Bureau. She has attended the Agriculture Future of America Animal Institute and currently works at the UW Meat Science and Muscle Biology Laboratory.
Slind says that many of her greatest learning experiences have come through opportunities to travel with clubs and classes and that the Purina Animal Nutrition Experience with Dairy Science 375 was especially inspiring. She was able to travel to St. Louis with highly regarded professionals and learn first-hand about the research that Purina is doing.
After graduating, Slind hopes to work closely with producers through either a sales or dairy nutrition position. This entry was posted in CALS Faces, Students and tagged Dairy science by . Bookmark the permalink.
