CALS alumnus is new online editor for Wisconsin Public Television

CALS alumnus Marcus Steed has been hired as online editor for Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) where he reviews, edits and produces content for the organization’s website and social media platforms.

“Marcus made important contributions to our online service while he was a student intern and comes to us with terrific qualifications,” said James Steinbach, director of television for WPT. “We are glad to have him on staff, along with his energy and the knowledge he shares with colleagues.”

Steed is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism with a business emphasis. While a student, Steed interned for two years with WPT, working on web projects in support of the Here and Now and In Wisconsin series as well as special news coverage.

Steinbach added that WPT was able to hire Steed thanks to a competitive workforce diversity grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. “This helps us advance our goal to have a more diverse staff and reach ever more diverse audiences across the state,” he said.

Wisconsin Public Television offers everyone in and around Wisconsin the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds on TV and online. Wisconsin Public Television, a PBS member station, is a service of the Educational Communications Board and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
