UW-Madison hosts state FFA Career Development Events April 29
Students from more than 150 Wisconsin high schools will travel to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus for the state FFA Career Development Events Friday April 29.
Hosted by the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, more than 2,000 students will compete in 15 different contest areas. These include Forestry, Wildlife, Floriculture, Nursery/Landscape, Agronomy, Dairy Foods, Sales, Farm Business Management, Poultry, Meats, Livestock, Horse, Dairy , Ag Mechanics, and Dairy Show.
The events will take primarily on the UW-Madison agricultural campus, but the Forestry contest is held at the Arboretum and the Livestock event is held at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station. Horse events are held at Bristol Equestrian Stables in Sun Prairie.
High school teams will compete for the chance to represent Wisconsin at the National Career Development Events in Louisville, Ky. next October. Richard Daluge, assistant dean for CALS, is the contest manager. Events begin at 8 a.m. and conclude around noon.
