UW-Madison ag marketers win Outstanding Chapter award

The University of Wisconsin-Madison student chapter won the Outstanding Chapter award at the National Agri-Marketing Association convention April 13-15 in Kansas City. The UW-Madison chapter took first place among 37 chapters, and has won the top chapter award six times in the past eight years. The award included a plaque and a $500 check.

The award is based on a 120-page annual report that includes club meeting programs, career development activities, fund raising, marketing plan activities, and graduate placements.

The UW-Madison chapter also won a $100 Improvement Award for its membership recruitment program, which increased membership from 45 to 62 members in the last year.

Two chapter members won scholarships in the NAMA Foundation competition. Tara Maus of New London, Wis., who majors in Agricultural Journalism and Agricultural and Applied Economics, won the $2,000 scholarship. Dana Pronschinske of Arcadia, Wis., who majors in Agricultural Journalism, won the $1,000 scholarship.
