Wisconsin 4-Hers take third at 2003 North American International Livestock Exposition dairy cattle judging contest

The Wisconsin 4-H team placed third high team overall at the Youth Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held Nov. 9 at the 2003 North American International Livestock Exposition, Louisville, Ky. Pennsylvania 4-H won the contest, followed by Michigan 4-H; 21 4-H and FFA youth teams competed.

The Wisconsin team was 1st in oral reasons, Holsteins and Guernseys, 2nd in Ayrshires, and 4th in Brown Swiss.

Individual awards and team members:

Mitch Amundson of Mount Hope (Grant County) was 2nd high individual overall, 1st in Ayrshires, 4th in Holsteins, 7th in Guernseys and 10th in oral reasons.

Daniel Walker of Portage (Columbia County) was 4th high individual overall, 2nd in oral reasons and Brown Swiss, and 4th in Guernseys.
