December 5th Dairy Day At Marshfield To Look At Milk, Feed
The 2002 Dairy Day at the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station will focus on quality milk and quality feed.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. with a welcome by Marshfield station superintendent Tom Drendel. Matt Jorgensen, Clark County dairy agent, will review the pros and cons of milk pasteurization for calves. Pat Hoffman, extension dairy management specialist at Marshfield, will discuss his quality control feeding program for total mixed rations.
Following a rest break, at noon UW-Madison extension milk quality specialist Pamela Ruegg will discuss the Milk Money Program, and review some case studies. Paul Fricke, a UW-Madison dairy scientist, will look at new tools in reproductive management. Bob Kaiser, Dodge and Columbia county dairy agent, will discuss distillers grains in dairy diets.
The program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Snacks and beverages will be available during the break. The Marshfield station is 2 miles east of U.S. Highway 13 (turn on 29th St.).
