The Wisconsin team, represented by Dane County, was high team overall at the 80th Annual National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest, held Oct. 2 at Madison, Wis.
Wisconsin”s first-place team scored 2097 points, 23 points ahead of second-place New York. This was the second year in a row that a county team representing Wisconsin has won the contest. The Wisconsin team placed first in Brown Swiss and Jerseys, second in Guernseys, third in oral reasons, fourth in Holsteins, and fifth in Ayrshires. Thirty-one state 4-H teams competed the contest.

Andi Cooper of DeForest: eighth high individual overall and fourth in Brown Swiss.
Chris Roth of Waunakee.
Joel Sutter of Mt. Horeb: fourth high individual overall, second in Brown Swiss, fourth in oral reasons and Guernseys.
Chad Wethal of Stoughton: third high individual overall.
Cheryl Marti of Sun Prairie, Jill Nelson of Deforest, Mitch Breunig of Sauk City, and Eric Olstad of Stoughton coached the team.
