Twilight Tour Of The Gardens August 2 At Hancock AG Station

A twilight tour for plant lovers will be held at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station Monday, Aug. 2. More than 600 varieties of fruits, flowers and vegetables from more than two dozen seed companies will be showcased in the station”s A.R. Albert and Viletta Hawley-Albert Horticultural Garden. Participants can also tour perennial plantings and specialty gardens, and visit the pumpkin patches planted by local schoolchildren.

The evening will feature a hayride tour of the grounds, where visitors will hear about some of the more than 120 research projects underway at the station. Extension specialists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison”s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, UW-River Falls, and local county offices will be on hand to answer questions about insects, diseases, and general horticulture.

The Twilight Tour will run from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Hancock station is located near Interstate 39/US Highway 51 about 30 miles south of Stevens Point.
