Master Cheesemaker Board Announces New Members
The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker advisory board would like to welcome three new board members: Tom Jenny, Swiss Valley Farms; Roger Krohn, Krohn Dairy; Ken Leitner, Alto Dairy; and Randy Krahenbuhl, Prima Kase. These new members represent the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association and the Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker? Program.
Tom Jenny of Swiss Valley Farms, Platteville, is a representative from the WCMA and will serve on the board until 2001. He is a graduate of the Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker? Program and has been making Swiss Cheese for 32 years.
Randy Krahenbuhl of Prima Kase, Monticello, is a representative of the WMCM Program and will serve on the board until 1999. Randy will represent all of the cheesemakers who have earned the status of Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker.
Roger Krohn of Krohn Dairy Products Inc., is a representative of the WCMA and will serve on the board until 2001. He has been making cheese for 23 years and has won many awards for his cheesemaking, including two world titles.
Ken Leitner of Alto Dairy, Waupun, is a representative of the WDPA and will serve on the board until 2001. He has been making various varieties of cheese for the past 45 years.
The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Program would also like to thank members who retired from the board this year: John Wright, Eric Liebtrau, Ken Heiman and Eldon Liebziet. Each of these board members was instrumental in developing the Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker? Program.
The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker? Program is part of the Center for Dairy Research at UW-Madison”s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
