The Annual Lancaster Cow-Calf Day will be held Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at the Lancaster Research Station. This event is co-sponsored by UW-Extension and UW-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The Research Station is located 5 miles west of Lancaster on Highway 35 & 81. The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be served by the Grant County Cattlemen & Cowbelles, courtesy of Murray”s, Dairy, Farm, and Refrigeration and Stronghold by Haigie.
This year”s program features several topics of interest. Ken Albrecht, UW-Madison, will provide an update in her Kura Clover research. Reid Ludlow, Vernon County producer, will discuss stocker management in Wisconsin. Mike Siemens, UW-Extension Beef Specialist, will present information on stocker cattle gains on pastures of varying composition. Finally, a panel consisting of a producer, an agronomist and DNR personnel will cover streambank management for grazing operations.
