UW Farm Short Course Preview Set For December 3-4
High school seniors and their parents are invited to visit the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and see if the Farm and Industry Short Course will meet their needs.
On either Dec. 3 or 4, students and parents can tour the campus and visit classes in dairy cattle evaluation, farm machinery, meat animal evaluation, beginning soils, and livestock housing. Current students, housefellows and alumni will give their perspectives of Short Course. Parents will learn about the many scholarships opportunities in Short Course and the types of careers available to graduates.
Short Course is a one- or two-year program that runs from November to April. It is open to high school students interested in farming or one of the many agricultural industries in Wisconsin.
Although there is no charge for attending either of the preview days, parking limitations require advanced registration by Nov. 10.
