A tour of the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station
Learn more about the research at CALS’ Marshfield Agricultural Research Station in this audio slideshow.
The Marshfield Agricultural Research Station, which operates farmsites in Wood County and Marathon County, serves north-central Wisconsin, the most intensive dairying area in the state. The station focuses on conducting dairy-related research with an emphasis on heifer rearing and management. Extensive work is also done on field crops, land drainage, soil fertility, waste management, farm economics, crop storage and crop breeding/evaluation of forages, small grains and corn.
The audio interview with station superintendent Nancy Esser was recorded in 2013 by CALS photographer and podcast producer Sevie Kenyon.
